Treaty of Kruschwitz

The Treaty of Kruschwitz, also Kruschwitzer contract was entered into on May 16, 1230 between Konrad of Mazovia and the Teutonic Order. Under this agreement, the Duke transferred to the Teutonic Order the Kulmerland. Furthermore, Konrad recognized the independence of the Order state and the rule of the Teutonic Order upon all the land that would conquer this beyond the borders of Poland.

An original certificate of the contract is not received. In the history of science was therefore disputed whether the contract was actually concluded so. The German historian Max Perlbach In 1873 the authenticity of disputed; it broadly followed the Polish historiography. Since 1980 Perlbachs thesis is considered to be refuted.
