Treaty of Teusina

In the Peace of Teusina (Swedish freden i Teusina, Russian Тявзинский мирный договор, Finnish Täyssinän rauha ) the border between Sweden and Russia was rescheduled on May 18 in 1595. He ended a 25-year -long armed conflict between the two empires, the ( tjugofemårskriget Nordiska, 1570-1595 ) in Swedish history as Nordic twenty-five years of war is called.

The valid since the Treaty of Nöteborg 1323 border by Karelia was thereby shifted in favor of Sweden to the east. The new frontier was now east of Olaf castle and the town of Kainuu; Swedish Finland was given access to the White Sea.
