Treaty of Warsaw

In Warsaw ( Warszawa ), various agreements were concluded in the course of history, so that the designation Warsaw Treaty is in use for the following agreements:

  • Treaty of Warsaw; Prussian- Polish State Treaty of 18 September 1773 mutual territorial claims
  • Warsaw Convention on International Carriage by Air, also called short Warsaw Convention; several times later modified and supplemented rights treaties, 12 October 1929, now superseded by the Montreal Convention
  • Warsaw Pact; called military assistance agreement of the Eastern Bloc in 1955 as a counterweight to NATO, in the official language of the participating States Warsaw Treaty Organization
  • Treaty of Warsaw (1970); actually " Treaty between the Federal Republic of Germany and the People's Republic of Poland on the basis of the normalization of their bilateral relations ," in which the Federal Republic of Germany and the People's Republic of Poland mutually recognize their limits (ratification on 17 May 1972)
  • German - Polish Border Treaty of November 14, 1990; actually " Treaty between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Poland on the confirmation of the frontier between them ", Germany, and Poland to renounce definitively mutual territorial claims and recognize on December 16, 1991, the Oder- Neisse line as a border between Germany and Poland
