Trédion

Trédion is a commune in the Landes de Lanvaux Le hinterland of the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. The village lies in the valley of the river Claie and 1102 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The main attraction is the restored Château de Trédion, now a hotel.

On the 25.76 km ² large municipality, there are many prehistoric monuments relative.

Megaliths in the woods around Trédion

  • Babouin et Babouine are two unusually shaped and machined menhirs in the forest south-east of the village.
  • North of the village is the menhir La grande Villeneuve.
  • Menhir du bois de Kerfily
  • Bois de Kerfily is also called a " Dolmen à couloir " " ( passage grave ).
  • La Loge -au -Loup ( the hut of the Wolf ) is the largest local " Allée couverte ". It is located in the extreme south of the municipal area and is one of the most architecturally unusually designed megaliths of the region. It is a Allée couverte ( Avenue with covered gear) of the types " arcboutée " or " à dalles inclinées " (as they can also be found at Castel- Ruffel ).
  • The dolmen Prés du parc ( west ) is a less well-preserved monument.
  • Here also are the menhirs and dolmens something destroyed " La pierre de la Bataille Tabulaire "
