Trenhotel

Trenhotel (German train hotel ) is a type of train of the Spanish rail company RENFE trains for night travel (similar to Euro Night ) with reclining and sleeping car type Talgo. Night trains of RENFE, which are not operated with Talgo, bear the name Estrella.

Each Talgo train consists of several interchangeable train components, so that each night train (in theory) can be set up differently. The train components consist of the Talgo Series IV, V, VI and VII Series IV does not have the possibility of a change in track width, so that trains with parts of this series do not leave the Iberian peninsula and can not sail the Spanish high -speed network. Trenhotel services operate mainly in and between Spain and Portugal, and in collaboration with the French SNCF under the name Elipsos to France. The connections to Italy and Switzerland were discontinued in December 2012.
