Trenitalia

Trenitalia is the division of people and goods, while 100 per cent subsidiary of the Italian Ferrovie dello Stato (FS ).

History

The company Trenitalia arose when the division freight and passenger from the former Italian state railway Ferrovie dello Stato was dissolved in 2000.

Finances

Between 2004 and 2009, Trenitalia revenue increased from 4 to 5.6 billion euros. Nevertheless, the company had financial problems, and net debt in 2007 amounted to 5.67 billion euros.
