Treriksröset

Treriksröset ( Swedish), Treriksrøysa (Norwegian), Kolmen valtakunnan rajapyykki ( Finnish), Golmma riikka urna ( Northern Sami ) is the tri-border region of Sweden, Norway and Finland.

The Grenzmal originated in 1897 and was built by the then governments of Norway and Russia. The Swedish government wanted this limit mark with Norway not initially recognize and added her Grenzmal until 1901. Treriksröset located on the Swedish side in the municipality of Kiruna is the northernmost point of Sweden and at the same time the westernmost point of the Finnish mainland. The distance between Treriksröset and Smygehuk, Sweden's southernmost point, is 1572 km.

Today, built in 1926 Grenzmal on Treriksröset - triangle is located about 10 meters in Goldajärvi Lake (also called Koltajauri ) and is a round slightly curved yellow painted concrete stone.
