Tresticklan National Park

Established in 1996, The National Park Tresticklan with a total area of ​​28.97 square kilometers is one of the major national parks in the south of Sweden and is located in the municipality of Dals - Ed in the northwestern Dalsland on the border to Norway. The name means Tresticklan trident and is certainly connected with the shape of the lake Stora Tresticklan. Under the name Trestickla - Boksjön the National Park is classified as a Natura 2000 site since January 2005.

Vegetation

The Risstallandschaft with wilderness character is marked by a multitude of small nutrient-poor lakes that lie in the resulting channels of glacial glacier movements. Approximately 27.11 square kilometers of land with a natural vegetation of mostly sparse pine forest, here and there interspersed with marshes and small spruce, aspen and birch occurrence. In 1830, a forest fire raged in the area of ​​today's national parks. The jaw is adjusted accordingly to it and has a thicker cortex, individual trees are over 250 years old.

Fauna

In the National Park of the capercaillie, black grouse and hazel grouse and osprey are quite common. As larger land animals in the elk and rarely also the lynx and wolf are mentioned.

Access

The national park is best reached via the road between Ed and Nössemark. The parking Råbocken is about 600 meters from the eastern border and is the starting point for hikes. To the Norwegian border ( Bodalsviken ) there are about 3.5 km, the Budalsvika Hut offers among other nights. The trail Tresticklaleden is about 8 km long. At the southern branch Bråtane a short detour to Orshöjden is possible, which is the largest collection in the National Park with 276 m.

The lighting of bonfires is prohibited, the berry and mushroom picking for their own consumption but allowed.
