The Trettachspitze is a 2595 meter high mountain in the Allgäu Alps. Because of their bold shape ( a very steep, narrow rocky horn of the west and east seen ) it is one of the most famous mountains of the Allgäu Alps.

Location

Together with the Mädelegabel ( 2645 m) and the Hochfrottspitze ( 2649 m), it forms the often admired triumvirate above Einödsbach. It is the only high rocky summits of the Allgäu Alps, lies entirely on German soil. It is preceded by the Mädelegabel north and is often climbed from Walt Berger- house.

At the foot of Trettachspitze, at the lower end of the Trettachrinne, is the source of Trettach.
