Trévignin

Trévignin is a town in the French department of Savoie in the Rhone -Alpes.

Geography

Trévignin is located on 620 m above sea level. M., near Aix -les- Bains, about 16 km north of the town of Chambery (air line). This former farm extends to the northwest of the department of Savoie, on the western edge of the massif of the Wallows and at the foot of Mont Revard, a scenic location on a terrace approximately 380 m above the lake level of Lake Bourget.

The area of ​​6.89 km ² municipal area includes a portion in the foothills. The northern part of the municipality is occupied by the Verebnungsfläche of Trévignin that gently slopes down to the valley of the Sierre to the west and north. The area is drained by several rivers to Sierre and thus to the Lac du Bourget. To the south, the municipality's area extends over the first gentle, later steep, wooded slopes of Mont Revard, which is crossed by several rock bands. At the height of the Tour de l' Est Angle is with 1562 m above sea level. M. reached the highest elevation of Trévignin.

History

In the Middle Ages Trévignin belonged to the rule Cessens.

Trévignin since 1966 is twinned with the German village Olfen, which is a district of Beerfelden ( Odenwald / Hessen) since 1971.

From the 19th century the parish church of Trévignin comes. A chapel stands in the hamlet of Le Nandrion.

Population

With 757 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Trévignin one of the small communities of the department of Savoie. After the population was declining in the first half of the 20th century, a significant population increase has been recorded since the mid-1970s thanks to the attractive residential area again. Since then, the population has nearly tripled.

Economy and infrastructure
