Trevor Johnson (ice hockey)

Trevor Johnson ( born January 25, 1982 in Trail, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey Italo- player who has a contract with HC Valpellice in the Italian Serie A1 since July 2010.

Career

The Canadian-born defender began his career with the Kootenay Ice in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League. In the years up to 2006, he spent seven other teams, among others, in the American Hockey League and ECHL on the ice. For the season 2006/ 07 Johnson moved to Europe in the first Italian Serie A. He played for SV Ritten Renon - and the HC Asiago. Prior to the 2009/10 season the defender received a contract with the Kassel Huskies of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. After the termination of the contract in the German Ice Hockey League, he moved back in December 2009 in the Italian league for HC Bolzano. In July 2010, he joined the HC Valpellice.

Internationally

For Italy, Johnson took part in the A World Championships in 2010 and 2012 as well as the B World Championships in 2009 and 2011, where he rose with his team as group winners in the top division. At the World Cup in 2009 Johnson was named best defender. In addition, the Canadian-born played for Italy in the qualification for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 and the A World Cup 2010.
