Trevor Lucas

Trevor Lucas ( born December 25, 1943 in Melbourne, † February 4, 1989 in Sydney) was an Australian folk singer and guitarist.

Born in Australia drew Lucas mid-1960s to the UK and there published in 1966 his solo debut Overlander. Between 1967 and 1969 he was a member of the folk band Eclection. The late 1960s, Lucas entered into a relationship with Sandy Denny, which eventually went Fotheringay. The band recorded one album in 1970 and then broke up again because Denny decided to start a solo career.

Mid-1972, Lucas joined Fairport Convention and Denny married in 1973, which also came back in 1974 to Fairport Convention. There it held the two but not long; in 1976 both went off again. Denny died in 1978, then as a surprise. Lucas married a second time and moved back to Australia, where he died in 1989 from a heart defect.

Lucas is heard as a studio musician on recordings by The Strawbs, Richard Thompson, Al Stewart and Stefan Grossman.
