Trexlertown, Pennsylvania

Trexlertown is a municipality in the Upper Macungie Township in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.

The name Trexlertown goes back to the German immigrants Peter Trexler from Dettingen (then Hesse- Darmstadt). He and his family were the first white settlers in the area, which was then still occupied by the tribe of the Lenni Lenape. From them the name comes Macungie ( = feeding place of bears ). Trexlers son Jeremiah opened there in 1732, a guest house, two years later when the first road was built along that led to Philadelphia. Around this restaurant was the subsequent place, which today has about 750 inhabitants.

Internationally known Trexlertown (called T -Town ) take place as the site of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, a sports center with Velodrome, on the international and national track cycling.
