Trhanov

Trhanov ( German Chodenschloß ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers west of Domažlice and belongs to the Okres Domažlice to.

Geography

Trhanov located in the southeast of the Upper Palatinate Forest ( Český les ) and will brook crossed by Černý. North-east rises the 585 m high Hradek and in the southwest of Čerchov ( Schwarzkopf ). Trhanov is located on the railway line between Domažlice Tachov. In Trhanov is a train station in the village of Pila is the train stop Újezd ​​-Pila. In the West Trhanov forms with Chodov a closed settlement area, both communities are only separated by the railway line.

Neighboring towns are Nový Hamr in the north, and Újezd ​​Havlovice in the northeast, Pila and Babylon in the southeast, Pec in the southwest, Chodov in the west and Klenčí pod Čerchovem in the northwest.

History

In 1621 the Trhanovský - mill, which was located on the site of the present village was first mentioned. Wolf Wilhelm Laminger of Albenreuth acquired the mill very cheap after the Battle of White Mountain, and taught in the accompanying Vorwerk a brewery. With his manor, the inhabitants of the previously free Chodendörfer Chodov, Újezd ​​and Draženov came into serfdom and were subject robot.

His son Maximilian Wolf had built a baroque palace as a summer residence between 1676-77. The Chod subjects refused to obey him and taking their word warlord, Jan Sladky Kozina an uprising against the " Lomikar ". After his death in 1696 Georg Heinrich Graf Stadion acquired the manorial Chodenschloß. After 1755, a large fire had destroyed the castle and part of the village was rebuilt. The castle underwent, an expansion. 1788 took the village school to the district, the villages Pec, Babylon, Chodov and Újezd ​​belonged to teach at. At the subsequent owners of the manor belonged, among others Johann Philipp von Stadion, who had the church built in 1810. After the extinction of the Counts of stadium the Counts of Schönborn inherited the castle. 1906 a post office was built in the community. 1908 donated the famous son of the town Josef Thomayer a poorhouse. In 1910 the railway line from Tachau was inaugurated by Taus.

After the Munich Agreement Chodenschloß 1938-1945 belonged to the Reich District of Sudetenland of the German Empire, first to the district market Eisenstein and 1940-1945 to the district forest Munich. After the end of World War II Trhanov came back to Czechoslovakia. The Counts of Schönborn were expropriated. After the construction of the Iron Curtain, the castle was used as a barracks. In place new houses were built in bricks. In the 1970s Trhanov was combined with Chodov, since 1990 it is again independent.
