Triabunna

Triabunna is a small town in the southeast of the Australian state of Tasmania. The administrative center of the Local Government Area Glamorgan Spring Bay Municipality is located 84 km north-east of Hobart on the eastern coast of the island. Triabunna was built at the mouth of the MacCleans Creek and Vickery Rivulet in the Spring Bay. The Tasman Highway ( A3) passes through the town. At the 2006 census, the population was found to be 796.

The approximately 5 km south of the city center residential and residential area Louisville is considered a " satellite city " of Triabunna.

History

The name ' Triabunna ' is the name of the Tasmanian Aborigines for the endemic Tasmanian cesspool chicken. The city was founded in 1830 as barracks for the 63rd Regiment, and later for the 51st Regiment and some time Triabunna Home.

Recreation and Sports

Triabunna is a lovely city, surrounded by beaches, hills and eucalyptus groves. In the area there are many historic buildings from the colonial era. From Triabunna, you have a beautiful view of Maria Iceland, which can be reached by a short ferry ride.

The weather on the east coast of Tasmania is particularly mild. Triabunna is known for its warm, sunny summer and therefore is well suited as a holiday destination and retirement home. The beautiful, easily accessible beaches make the city interesting for water sports, fishing, sailing, surfing or diving. Triabunna also has facilities for tennis, cricket, golf and Australian Football. Also walks through the adjacent forests are popular.
