Later, his father announced to him before his death, the dispersal of his descendants, so the downfall of his tribe, to (Gen 49:5-7 EU).

In the pseudepigraphical writing the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs is also addressed to Simeon's envy and hatred. His lack of compassion he repents profoundly, for pity and compassion are in the Patriarch wills outstanding virtues. Thus he admonishes his descendants, it does not do the same.

The name Simeon wore later other Israelites. So mentioned Lk 2.25 to 35 EU a Simeon besides the prophetess Anna ( Lk 2.36 to 38 EU) in the story of the Presentation of Jesus in the temple.
