Tribute act

A tribute band is a musical group in the field of pop music or rock music, whose goal is to play music a band known as faithfully as possible. Since most tribute bands do not seek to produce their own music, their work focuses primarily on live performances.

In contrast to a cover band, in which their own interpretations of foreign songs are common to tribute bands focus primarily on the perfect imitation of a famous band. Here, tribute bands often limited not only to the copying of music, but emulate its ideal in appearance. Performances by tribute bands same sometimes a perfect reproduction of the original artist shows.

However, not all tribute bands confined to the mere copying the works of the originals. Unless the original improvised at his concerts or improvised, it do them some tribute bands equal and also improvise during their live performances ( for example, the German Deep Purple tribute band Demon's Eye ).

The band's name is often derived from the name of the musical role model or his works to be easily associated with the original. Some bands (for example, Deep Purple, Kiss and ABBA) have publicly expressed favorably on the individual tribute bands.
