Trichamoeba
Trichamoeba is a genus of amoebae from the group of Euamoebida. Your free - living species are found in both freshwater and in the sea.
Features
Trichamoeba species are narrow to thick, can actively move and are then monopodial (ie only form a pseudopod ). Flowing cells form from ray-like pseudopodia. Their movements are usually evenly.
The cells are usually long 75-250 microns. The glycocalyx is clearly visible. The nucleus is ovoid. The cytoplasm often contains bipyramidal crystals. The bulbose Uroid is smooth or short- hairy, sometimes with fine threads.
