Trident (car company)

Trident was a British manufacturer of automobiles, also in the form of kit cars.

Company History

The company Trident Cars Limited began in 1965 in Woodbridge with the production of automobiles. Later, the company moved to Ipswich. In 1974, the production was temporarily halted. After a reboot, 1976, the production finally ceased in 1978. Vehicles manufactured from 1965 to 1978 are modifications of a formed in the early 1960s, basic construction; they differed from each other primarily by their engine and the front end design. In technical terms, the Trident coupé based on a construction of TVR; the basic design goes on, however, the British- Italian designer Trevor Fiore (actually: Trevor Frost ), who worked for Carrozzeria Fissore in the 1960s. The vehicles were designed as a fastback coupe with a large tailgate. A single vehicle was also built as a convertible.

Clipper (1976-1978)

In the new edition of the Clipper V8 Ford engines with 4942 cc and 140 hp and Chrysler with 5898 cc displacement and 223 hp were used.

Venturer (1977-1978)

In the new edition of the Venturer a six cylinder engine from Ford (England) with 2994 cc engine, producing 138 horsepower was used.
