Trierische Landeszeitung

The Trierische country newspaper ( TLZ ) was a newspaper that was published from 1875 to 1974 in Trier on the Mosel ( Rhineland -Palatinate).

History

On 31 March 1875, the chaplain Friedrich Dasbach in Trier founded the two newspapers " Sanct - Paulinus sheet" and "Catholic People's Daily ", and the " St. Paulinus - printing ". On October 1, 1875, the "Catholic People's Daily " has been renamed " Trierische country newspaper".

On February 28, 1943 to cease publication as part of the second of three major decommissioning raising total of 950 papers by order of the Reich Press Chamber. This measure had to bend the Trierische country newspaper. This was due to the shortage of raw materials as well as the efforts of Goebbels' propaganda apparatus to keep public opinion in the handle.

After the Second World War, the printing operation was resumed on November 1, 1949. In 1972, the financial burden of the diocese of Trier were too large and the newspaper was sold to the Saarbrücken newspaper. Under the direction of Saarbrücken newspaper Trierische country newspaper was still printed in the printing house Paulinus in Trier, until finally the appearance of the Trierischer country newspaper was finally closed on 31 March 1974. The only daily newspaper in Trier since then the Trierische friend of the people.
