Triethylgallium is a chemical compound selected from the group consisting of organometallic compounds of gallium.
Production and representation
Triethylgallium may be as trimethylgallium via organomercury compounds (e.g. diethylmercury ) was obtained.
It can also be displayed from gallium ( III) chloride and potassium chloride with triethylaluminum.
Properties
Triethylgallium is a viscous itself flammable liquid with sweetish aromatic odor, which decomposes on contact with water. It is in the gas phase and in solution ( benzene, petroleum ether) as a monomer.
Use
Triethylgallium is used as starting material for the deposition of gallium semiconductor compounds, such as light- emitting diodes, laser diodes, high-power transistors and high-efficiency solar cells.
