Trilj

Trilj (Italian Treglia ) is a town in Dalmatia in the south of the country, which is part of the Split-Dalmatia County. It lies on the river Cetina in the Dalmatian hinterland. According to the 2011 census Trilj has 9,109 inhabitants.

History

In Roman times was Tilurium, the Latin name of the town garrison. In the first half of the 1st century AD Legio VII Claudia here was stationed. After their departure, the bearing of auxiliary troops continued to be used.
