Triopas

Triopas (Greek Τριόπας ) is a character from Homer's Iliad. He is one of military kings of the Achaeans, the draw for Agamemnon, king of Mycenae in the battle. His kingdom was Thessaly, which for a long time could escape the connection to the Greek confederation of the sons of Theseus. Fallen before Troy. Vollmer is another myth which again Triopas lived in a grove of the goddess Demeter. His son Erysichthon (also: Aithon - Αιθων = fire ) angered Demeter and was a dragon killed. He was treated as Ophiuchos to the sky. Triopas was also the father of Iphimedeia and Phorbas. Probably it is a more mythical person.
