Trip computer

An on-board computer or on-board computer, Eng. On- board computer system ( OCS), is the name for an embedded system of the vehicle, marine and aviation technology. The device is used to monitor and display of operating and environmental conditions, and is used in some cases directly to the navigation.

There is the intended use in accordance with many types of on-board computers:

  • Bicycle Computer
  • Board computer for automobile
  • Machinery in general, and in particular vehicles (construction machinery, agricultural machinery)
  • In addition to the vehicles for all equipment involved in the transport chain logistics (from the loading operation with crane and forklift to transport robots in storage facilities)
  • Board computer in airplanes
  • On ships
  • On spacecraft, satellites and the like. An example is the Apollo guidance computer.
