Trisilane is a chemical compound from the group of silanes.
Production and representation
Trisilane may be obtained by reaction of Oktachlortrisilan with lithium aluminum hydride or by pyrolysis of disilane.
It can be just like the other silanes isolated by fractionation of crude silane which is formed in the acid decomposition of magnesium silicide or by the action of electric discharges on Monosilane.
Properties
Trisilane is a colorless, extremely sensitive to oxidation, even flammable liquid with a high vapor pressure, which means the danger of forming explosive mixtures with air.
