Triumph Scrambler

The Triumph Scrambler is a motorcycle the motorcycle manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles. The scrambler is produced since 2006 - first in English Hinckley, now exclusively in Thailand. The naked bike is structurally derived from the Triumph Bonneville T100.

Construction

Drive

It is driven by an air-cooled two-cylinder engine. The transversely mounted in-line engine has a displacement of 865 cc and produces a rated power of 43 kW (58 hp) at an engine speed of 6,800 min -1 and a maximum torque of 69 Nm at 4,750 min -1. The valves of the four-stroke engine are controlled by two overhead camshafts. The firing interval of the parallel twin is 270 °. Vibrations are reduced by two balance shafts. The mixture is prepared by a twin carburettor with throttle position sensor and electric carburetor heat. Pulled- 2 -into-2 exhaust system has an unregulated catalyst, below the limit values for pollutants emission standard Euro -3. Since the 2008 model year, there is an electronically controlled fuel injection due to stricter emissions standards.

The average fuel consumption is 5.6 liters per 100 km. The fuel tank holds 16 liters and allows a theoretical range of 285 km. The bike accelerates in 5.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h and reaches a top speed of 168 km / h

Landing gear

The Scrambler is based on the Bonneville with a similar suspension geometry. The chassis consists of a stählernden loop frame. The front wheel is guided by a telescopic fork with 41 mm Kayaba fork diameter and 120 mm of travel and delayed by a 310 mm disc with twin piston calipers. The rear suspension consists of a Doppelarmschwinge of steel tubing with two adjustable struts, compress the maximum of 106 mm. The drivable weight is 230 kg, the maximum load of 200 kg.

Reviews

" The driving dynamics are refueled with 54 hp and 232 kilograms fairly narrow limits, however the fun does not suffer. On the Scrambler is always something going on. With quite soft fork, but all the tighter spring legs she puts forward a ground waves to her behind hand out again. In addition, the low -mounted foot pegs draw very early drainage into the asphalt, on top of the fork twists at higher load which is in itself not overly powerful disc brake. "

" Triumph Scrambler is not a motorcycle, whose driving pleasure is to convey through test reviews. A cool companion with style for all cases in which the time pressure must remain outside ... "

" The pure style of the Scrambler but also has downsides. So the pretty motor hiding shyly behind the exhaust system. The wide handlebars and the nonexistent windshield limit the travel speed of a tremendous, because not later than 140 km / h, the driver sits in a veritable hurricane. That does not bother especially if the biker is authentic traveling with half-shell helmet. Who likes fleet stretches of motorway, which was to look for another vehicle:. The registered maximum speed of 168 km / h only a statistical margin note "

" But can rob the Scrambler, thanks to the upright seating position and clear thanks to the wide handlebar gorgeous along winding streets. Even if it looks - more suspension travel than the Bonnie has not the scrambler and is therefore hardly off-road ".
