Troels Bech

Troels Bech ( born July 29, 1966 in Svendborg ) is a Danish former football player and current coach. As a midfielder he won in 1994 with Silkeborg IF the Danish national champion and won as a coach in 1997, the Danish women's championship. He is also a football expert at the Danish TV station TV2.

Career

Bech began playing football at Svendborg fB in his hometown. In 1987 he moved to Germany for SpVgg Fürth, which contested the third-class Bavarian League. After half a year he returned in the winter back to Denmark and joined the first division club Silkeborg IF. With the team he won at the end of the season 1993/94 the champion in the Super League. Soon afterwards, he had to end his career at the club due to an injury at the age of 27 years after 177 games.

Bech moved into coaching and worked between 1994 and 1996 as an assistant coach Viggo Jensen and his successor Ove Christensen at Viborg FF. In 1997 he took over the women's soccer club Hjortshøj - Egå Idrætsforening in the 3F Ligaen, whom he led to the championship title. Then Bech took over again a coaching job in the men's area and oversaw the second division side AC Horsens. He then took over as coach in Ikast FS, the hiring away him from the league rivals. After the club in the summer of 2000 with Herning Fremad to FC Midtjylland merged, he had to leave office because Ove Pedersen, the coach of another club, had been chosen as the new head coach.

In the Super League season 2000 /01 Bech took over at Odense BK at his first coaching job in the Super League when he inherited the previous coach Torben Storm. The team led by Søren Berg, Kaspar Dalgas and Lars Jacobsen, who had fought in the preseason against relegation, he led her into the middle of the league. In March 2004, Bech returned to Odense BK and formed with Klavs Rasmussen Trainerduo. After the end of the Super League season 2004 /05 he was but there fired and replaced by Bruce Rioch. In November of that year he hired at Esbjerg fB. With the team led by Martin Vingaard, Jesper Jørgensen and Njogu Demba - Nyrén he finished in the following years seats in the middle of the league.
