Troldkirken

The dolmen Troldkirken (Eng. Troll Church) is located northeast of Sønderholm and southwest of Aalborg in Denmark near the road 187 ( Nibevej ) on a hill. It dates from the Neolithic period around 3500-2800 BC and is one of the megalithic Funnel Beaker culture. Neolithic monuments are an expression of the culture and ideology of Neolithic societies. Their origin and function are considered as indicator of social development.

In general, the giant beds are lower, lakes and watercourses. An exception is Troldkirken, located on a ridge in the northwestern Himmerlands, with a wide view over the fjord. The hill is 60 m long, 12 m wide and is caught by a giant bed of 47 large stones. The Polygonaldolmen had already been made in 1809 under protection.
