Trolleybuses in Yerevan

The trolleybus Yerevan today is the only trolleybus operating in Armenia. The Obusverkehr is operated by the transport companies Yergortrans and today consists of the five lines 1, 2, 9, 10 and 15

History

The trolley bus in the capital, Yerevan was opened on 16 August 1949 and completed in 1981, opened today the Yerevan Metro.

Predominantly vehicles of the Czech type Škoda 14 Tr be used, but there are also some Russian VZTM -5280 and used from Lyon acquired trolleybuses in operation. Previously, the operation was much more extensive, at times perverse 300 cars on 20 lines.

Another Armenian trolleybus previously existed in Gyumri, that existed from 1962 until 2005.
