Tropfest

The Tropfest is a short film festival, which takes place annually in Sydney. It has its name from the Tropfest Tropicana Cafe in Darlinghurst, an eastern suburb of Sydney. Created by John Polson in 1993, was the first festival from a small video projection on a wall of the Tropicana cafes.

2003 more than 700 short films were submitted to the festival and the 16 finalists shown in public parks and cafes throughout Australia. In Sydney, more than 100,000 people found a front of the large video screens in the Domain park. The winners are nominated by judges, to which known Australian film directors, actors, screenwriters, producers and former Tropfest winner count.
