Elves Warbler

The elves Warbler ( Parula pitiayumi ) is a small bird of the family Warbler ( Parulidae ). He is next to the fire Warbler ( Parula gutturalis ), the tits Warbler ( Parula americana ) and the jewelry Warbler ( Parula superciliosa ) the fourth type in the genus Parula.

Elves Warbler have a body size of about eleven centimeters. The top blue plumage is mostly gray with greenish spots; the underside yellow plumage, which expires in orange towards the chest. On the elytra are two white wing bars. The black head plumage in the male is absent in the female. Females have duller plumage overall.

Elves Warbler feed mainly on insects and spiders. Occasionally, berries are added.

The breeding areas are in the north and south of Mexico through Central America to northern Argentina and on to Trinidad and Tobago. Elves warblers are among the few warbler species that do not migrate over the winter from their breeding grounds. Exceptions to this are the birds, the north have continued their breeding grounds.
