TROS

TROS is a Dutch television and radio stations and part of, the public broadcasting comparable in Germany, Publieke Omroep. The name was originally an acronym ( German: about radio and TV Foundation ) for Televisie s Radio Omroep Stichting.

History

The TROS was just such a set up in 1964 in response to a law against pirate radio stations as under the name TV Noordzee. TV Noordzee sent from the platform REM eiland in the North Sea outside the 6- mile zone. The Dutch government authority could at first do nothing against the transmission mode, but eventually reached but the closure of the station.

With its mix of comedy and American series of the transmitter had already won at this time numerous viewers. In contrast to stations that have a political or religious orientation, wanted and wants TROS offer a pure entertainment. TROS advertises itself as De grootste family van Nederland, " the largest family of the Netherlands ". Meanwhile TROS are also two television magazines out: Tros Kompas and TV krant.
