Trossin

Trossin is a municipality in the northern part of the county north of Saxony Free State of Saxony. It belongs to the administrative community Dommitzsch. It is one of the largest surface area communities of the county Nordsachsen.

Geography and transport

The municipality is located in the eastern part of the Duebener Heath on the border with Saxony- Anhalt. The neighboring towns are Dommitzsch (5 km), Torgau ( 17 km) and Bad Duben (20 km). The B 182 runs north-west and the B 183 south of the community.

Districts

The municipality consists of Dahlberg, Falkenberg with Gniebitz and Hachemühle, Roitzsch and Trossin.

Policy

Mayoress

The Dresden school teacher Ines Pfundt (then CDU ) occurred on 1 August 2008 from her position as honorary mayor of Trossins after 51.1 percent of the vote could win the mayoral election. Just a short time in office gave her the council numerous transgressions against, forced a year later deselecting the Mayor and was opposed it publicly against Pfundt. Martin Machowecz however, stated in an article in TIME that Pfundt was repeatedly subjected to bullying and speaks in this context of a for newcomers " impenetrable kinship braid ". On 24 January 2010, she was with 65 percent of votes: voted ( turnout 81 percent). Then took over the former first deputy mayor Tilo Süptitz from the January 26, 2010 provisionally the office. On July 29, 2010, the Administrative Court in Leipzig deselected ruled that the reasons cited by the council are not sufficient and therefore illegal. The community group then began with a petition for re- deselection process, which took place on October 9, 2010. 70.3 percent of the voting population ( turnout: 76.7 percent) voted against Pfundt which, however, again challenging the admissibility of the deselection process. Meanwhile Pfundt resigned from the CDU and is now in the local branch of the FDP Bad Duben active.

Attractions

In addition to the Dübener Heide Nature Park of the castle pond with park, the millennial Luther Linde in the cemetery and the church from 1776 are in Trossin than worth seeing. The former water mill in Trossin is operated as an eco - mill.

History

The street village Trossin is of Slavic origin and was first documented in 1237 with the entry of Conrad de Trocin. Since the year 1349 was located in the village of a manor, the farmed approximately 1400 acres of floor space with the upper and Untergut. In the good and the Gutssiedlung lived 1818 240 and 1925 419 persons. The rural workers and peasants of the village went after 1945 the way the East German agriculture. In 2000, there were 1653 people. The higher authority sat in Torgau and is now exercised by the county Nordsachsen. The church was Trossin parish church until 2001.

  • Dahlberg was founded in the late 13th century. Was named the place after the Dahle, a cultivated plant of the field Fleming, who founded the place.
  • Roitzsch is of Slavic origin and was first mentioned in 1223 and is the oldest district of the municipality. Since the year 1508 there was a manor in the village.
  • Falkenberg was first documented in 1314.
