Trouser clips

A protective pants (also called trouser clip) protects the rider from pollution of his trouser legs. He is attached to the end of the right pant leg.

A trouser protection consists of either a textile strip which is fixed by a Velcro closure, or of a round metal clip. Previously, metal brackets were common, the, right secured to the leg, this attracted attention.

By the use of such a pant protection pants material is pressed onto the leg, and thus no longer loops on the bicycle chain, which is to the right in the rule.
