Trsteno

Trsteno is a village in the municipality of Dubrovnik in Croatia Dubrovnik-Neretva county. It is located on the Adriatic Sea.

Trsteno is below the Adriatic highway, 20 km from the city of Dubrovnik. Opposite the village is the island of Lopud.

History

The excavation of the old Catholic church in the village proved that Trsteno was settled in the 5th century. 1399 Trsteno occurs in the Republic of Ragusa.

Botanical garden

In Trsteno is also home to the only Botanical Garden ( Arboretum ) on the eastern Adriatic coast.
