Trübbach

Trübsbach is a village of the political community Wartau in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley ( Switzerland ).

Population

The village has about 1400 inhabitants and is located 479 m above sea level. The Reformed population is maintained by the Reformed congregation Azmoos - Trübsbach of Azmoos from. The Catholic faithful are organized in the parish Wartau whose church between Trübsbach and Azmoos stands.

Geography

The village is bordered by Balzers, Principality of Liechtenstein, and lies on the railway line from Chur to St. Margrethen and on the A13. The landscape is dominated by the Rhine and the mountain Gonzen. The older part of the village lies directly on the Rhine.

Culture and economy

The carnival society wine spirits Trübsbach is a member of the Alemannic fools ring. With around 600 jobs TEL solar AG is one of the largest employers in Trübsbach.

  • Patrik Merk ( born 1974 ), Swiss champion in track cycling, was born in Trübsbach.
