Truce of Yam-Zapolsky

The Treaty of Jam Zapolski was a truce was on January 15, 1582 under King Stephen Báthory and the tsarist Russia under Tsar Ivan IV closed in the village of Jam Zapolski near Novgorod between Poland - Lithuania. The armistice treaty was reached with the participation of the Jesuit Antonio Possevino.

The agreement committed both sides to a truce of ten years and ended the Livonian war for the Baltic States by the Tsar gave up its claims to the occupied parts since 1558 Livonia and the city of Polotsk.
