Truncation error (numerical integration)

In the Numerical Solution of Ordinary Differential Equations of the local discretization (or truncation error ) is the error that occurs within a process step of after assuming that accurate data. The local discretization error is accumulated in the course of the iterative solution to global errors at this point. The order, which the local discretization error tends to zero if the difference goes to zero, is called the order of consistency.
