Tsandi is a constituency in the Omusati Region of Namibia. Administrative seat is the town of the same name Tsandi.

The constituency has 24,873 inhabitants (as of 2004) and includes 92 settlements. The constituency borders the Kunene Region of Namibia and has a result of good pasture land and the rapidly developing tourism on a certain development potential.

Policy

Representatives of the constituency in the regional administration since the beginning of 2011 Nangolo Mutota from the ruling SWAPO.

In the regional elections in 2010 following official results for the constituency Tsandi was determined.

Economy

Agricultural production plays in the constituency of Tsandi still an important role. Here, the cultivation of Omahangu and the cattle take key roles. In 2003, the constituency earned a monthly income of about 2.8 million Namibian dollars.

Culture and sights

In 15 minutes by car from the settlement Tsandi remote village Ongulumbashe can Ongulumbashe monument to be visited. This monument was erected in memory of the first violent clash between activists of the Namibian liberation movement and the South African government, which took place in 1966 in Ongulumbashe.

In Tsandi and the surrounding area there are some very handsome and well-known baobab trees, such as King Nashilongos Baobab, whose hollow trunk that King served as the "office". In addition, the Sir Howard Baobab should be called, which is a particularly imposing specimen. This tree was named in honor of the first South African manager, who visited the region in 1916.
