Tschappina is a municipality in the district of the district Thusis Hinter Rhine in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

Geography

Tschappina lies at the foot of Piz Bever and is the starting point of the mule track over the glass ball to be Safiental. Tschappina is a scattered village. It is divided into the areas of the village Untertschappina (1400 m above sea level. M. ), Obertschappina ( 1580 m above sea level. M. ) and in the three fractions Obergmeind (1810 m above sea level. M. ) Except Glass (1846 m above sea level. M. ) and Inner glass (1820 m above sea level. M. ). In the Obergmeind is a small, avalanche ski resort with three ski lifts. In the summer you can go on from Tschappina from many hikes and mountain tours. To the south above the village is the former Walser settlement Masügg.
