Tsimanampetsotsa National Park

The National Park Tsimanampetsotsa (sometimes called Tsinmanampetsotse ) is a national park in the region Atsimo - Andrefana in the southwest of Madagascar. It covers 43,200 hectares around the Salt Lake Tsinmanampetsotsa near the city of Toliara ( Tulear former ). The closest villages to the national park are Efoetse and Beheloka.

Fauna and Flora

In the National Park Tsimanampesotsa live among other 112 species of birds, five of the nine species of the Silk Cuckoos ( Coua ), 39 types of reptiles, amphibians three types. It come to four species of lemurs, including two of the diurnal ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta) and Verreaux's Sifaka ( Propithecus verreauxi verreauxi ) and two of the nocturnal ( Petter Lemur ( Lepilemur petteri ) and the Grey-brown mouse lemur ( Microcebus griseorufus ).
