Tsubame, Niigata
Tsubame (Japanese燕 市, - shi) is a city in the interior of the Niigata prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.
Geography
Tsubame is located south of Niigata and north of Nagaoka.
History
The city of Tsubame was taken on March 31, 1954 by merging the small town ( Machi ) Tsubame with the surrounding villages ( Mura) Matsunaga (松 长 村), Konakagawa (小 中 川村) and Koike (小池 村). On 20 March 2006, Yoshida -machi was combined with Tsubame.
