Tsutomu Sato (politician)

Tsutomu Satō (Japanese佐藤 勉, Satō Tsutomu; born June 20, 1952 in Mibu, Tochigi Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP), a member of the Shūgiin, the Lower House, and former ministers. Within the LDP, he belongs to the Koga faction.

Life

Satō studied civil engineering at Nihon Daigaku; after graduating in 1975 he worked for the construction company Hazama and, from 1977, Satō Kōgyō.

1987 Satō was elected to the Parliament of Tochigi Prefecture and confirmed 1991 and 1995. In national politics, he moved when he successfully ran for the 1996 Shūgiin - election for the seat in the 4th constituency Tochigi. The constituency he won after three times, but lost it in 2009 to Kenji Yamaoka, and was re-elected on the proportional representation block North Kantō. In 2012 he was able to win the constituency with an absolute majority.

2001 was Satō parliamentary secretary ( seimukan ) in the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, 2007 Secretary of State ( fuku - daijin ) in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. In September 2008, Prime Minister Taro Aso, appointed him as Chairman of the National Public Safety Commission and Minister of State for Affairs of Okinawa and the Northern Territories, and disaster protection into his cabinet. On 12 June 2009 Satō took over after the resignation Kunio Hatoyama also the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. On 2 July 2009, he Motoo Hayashi, his predecessor as chairman of the National Public Safety Commission, these ministerial posts by re Satō. Satō remained until September 2009 Minister.
