TT192

The grave TT192 ( Theban Tomb 192 engl. = Theban grave No. 192) is located in the necropolis of al - Asasif in Western Thebes in Egypt. It belonged Cheruef, the sed festival - head of Amenhotep III. and the biggest grave of the 18th Dynasty would have been at its completion with 196 m length.

A ramp led into a 30 × 30 m large open courtyard, which was surrounded on all sides with 10 × 11/12 fluted columns. He was followed by a wide space, which, unusually, fluted columns to a huge hall with ten and 2 × 10 papyrus columns was developed. In the depth led a corridor with a double row of ten papyrus columns. This opened into a cult chapels, which were surrounded on three sides by statue niches. From the portico led a steep corridor three times with change of direction in the 40 meters under the rock located grave chamber. The grave was left unfinished and now badly damaged.
