Tubular bells

Tubular bells are elongated, hollow metal rods. This Idiophone be used as a musical instrument. In orchestras, they are often in a magnificent works, but also in church songs (mostly for imitation of church bells ) are used. They are played here by the percussionist.

In some English churches the "normal" bells were replaced by tubular bells in the 20th century. In the English -speaking world the tubular bells are known as tubular bells. According to them, the British musician Mike Oldfield named his debut album Tubular Bells (1973).
