Tuchoraz

Tuchoraz ( German Tuchoraz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers south of Český Brod and belongs to Okres Kolin.

Geography

Tuchoraz located on a small road connecting Kostelec nad Lesy Černými to Český Brod. Neighboring towns are Český Brod in the north, Přistoupim in the northeast, Kšely in the east, Vitice, Synec and Krupá the southeast, Přehvozdí in the south, southwest, and Vrátkov Mrzky in the west.

History

Tuchoraz was first mentioned in writing in 1295. This year it had a paved courtyard, which belonged to a Litos of Tuchoraz. Probably the beginning of the 15th century was built a stone festivals that was in 1463 in the possession of Mrs. Berger Viscount Nicholas of country rock. He served under King John of Luxembourg Court and several state offices and prompted a renovation and expansion of the celebrations to a castle. This and the town Tuchoraz 1541 were recorded in the Bohemian land board. At this time it belonged to the Bořivoj of Donin. Since this was actively involved in the stands rebellion of 1547, he was placed after their crackdown under house arrest. As a result of inheritances came Tuchoraz 1579 Jaroslav Smiřický of Smiřice which connected it with his rule Schwarzkosteletz. Around 1770 the castle was largely demolished and the building materials used for construction of the grand pond fixtures. The town Tuchoraz dropped back down to a village.
