The Tucson Mountains are a small mountain range west of Tucson in the U.S. state of Arizona. The hill has a north- south extent of 56 km and an east- west distance of 32 km which gives an area of 794 km ². The Tucson Mountains are just one of four notable mountain ranges surrounding the Tucson valley. The other are the Santa Catalina Mountains, the Rincon Mountains and the Santa Rita Mountains. The Arizona -Sonora Desert Museum is located on the western flank of the mountain. A large part of the mountains are protected by the Saguaro National Park and Tucson Mountain County Park. Highest elevation is 1429 m high Wasson Peak.
