Tudor City

Tudor City is an apartment complex on the east side of Manhattan in New York City. Twelve buildings contain 3,000 apartments and 600 hotel rooms. Since 17 May 1988, the settlement stands as a Historic District of New York State protected monument.

Location

The Tudor City is located in direct proximity to the East River, between 40th Street and 43rd Street, between First Avenue and Second Avenue. The complex includes beside the hotel, shops and parks between the three houses and a playground.

The area on the East River, in the vicinity of today's settlement was ruled from the late 19th century by gangs such as the Rag Gang ( rags - band) of the gangster Paddy Corcoran and therefore also called the Corcoran Nest. History

The housing estate was built in 1925 to 1928 entirely with private funds from the Fred F. French Company. Construction
