Tudorel Stoica

Tudorel Stoica ( born September 7, 1954 in Brăila ) is a former Romanian football player. He played 373 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A.

Career as a player

The career of Stoica began at his hometown club Politehnica Galaţi, where he aufrückte in the squad for the first team in 1971, the (now League II) played into the Divizia B. Over the 1972/73 season he became the regular player and was able to record with his team in the league. In the following season jumped out a place in midfield. In 1974 he left the club and moved to local rivals FCM Galaţi in the Divizia A (now League 1). There he was rarely used and was relegated with the club at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, offered for Stoica the opportunity to switch to Steaua Bucharest and thus to a Romanian top team. In the first year he sat down by a regular player and won with his new club double in league and cup, which he did not play in the final against his former club CSU Galaţi. In the following year the team was once again the Cup (1977 /78) and the Cup (1978 /79) to win, but had to stand at the beginning of the 1980s behind their rivals Dinamo Bucharest and Craiova Universitatea.

Steaua was back with the championship trophy and the subsequent victory was not until the year 1985. Stoica was a member in the following years, the most successful team of the Romanian association football. In 1986 he won with his club the European Champion Clubs' Cup, but came in the final against Barcelona is not used. In February 1987 he was a member of that team that won the European Super Cup for themselves. During this period, Steaua won five league titles in a row and was able to win the Cup four times. Stoica was during his time at Steaua always the root of the team. In the 1988/89 season he came but less used and changed in the summer of 1989 to RC Lens in the French Ligue 2 after only one year he returned to Steaua, only came in the 1990/91 season but to use one and ended his career.

National

Stoica played 15 games for the Romanian national football team. For the first time put the then national coach Constantin Cernaianu him in a friendly against the Soviet Union on 14 October 1979. Even under Cernăianus successor Valentin Stănescu he came at first only sporadically to the course, before in 1981 became a regular player and in the last qualifying matches for the 1982 World Cup was used.

As Stănescu was replaced after failing World Cup qualifier by Mircea Lucescu, also Stoica is no longer included. He had to wait nearly four years until August 7, 1985, before it Lucescu began in the friendly match against the Soviet Union. Only Emerich Jenei built from November 1986 to Stoicas enhanced services, he also had previously served as a club coach of Steaua Bucharest under his wing. He came in some qualifiers for the European Championships 1988 are used. Career as a coach

After the end of his active career Stoica was at the beginning of the 1990s, two assistant coaches Emerich Jenei at his former club Steaua Bucharest. Later he settled in Belgium and worked as a scout for RSC Anderlecht.

Stoica is the father of football player Alin Stoica ( born 1979 ), who played for many years in Belgium and was also the Romanian national team.
