Tufanbeyli

Tufanbeyli ( until 1965 Magra ) is a town and the northernmost district of the province of Adana in Turkey. The district is 1347 km ² and borders the provinces of Kayseri and Kahramanmaras. Since 1958 Tufanbeyli is an independent county. 1965, the place was named after a hero of the Kuvayı Milliye Osman Tufan Bey.

The city is 196 km away from Adana, but is closer to the neighboring provincial capitals Kayseri ( 178 km) and Kahramanmaras (160 km). The highest mountain with 3075 m of Tahtalı Mountains located in the district Tufanbeyli.
